Our Aims
We have BIG AIMS we are making little steps towards each and every day...
Right Now
Providing quality and exciting new pop-up creative experiences for the local community, this happens both formally and informally at events such as MakeFest, Winter Workshops and one-off events within the communities.
This means we can offer more opportunity in more places.
Right Now
Supporting the local contemporary crafters and makers of Mid Cornwall by providing opportunities to deliver workshops locally, promote their skills and create awareness of their brands.
Right Now
Creating collaborative relationships with other local community groups and charities with the aim of making the effects of what we offer stronger and more beneficial to the community.
Long Term
'In the Making'
The ultimate aim is working towards having a creative bricks and mortar home.

Professional creatives often work in isolated environments in their sheds, attics or at kitchen tables - yes even the professional ones! It often works for many as it saves on overheads, leaving more for income, however the financial gain is often joined by isolation, we are stronger together and have more to offer the community, this is where MakeSpace would like to MAKE a SPACE for creatives to commune, and bounce off each other and form a vibrant home for workshops for the community as well as affordable studio space for rent and even creative hot desking.
Long Term
'In the Making'
The SPACE will develop a shop where local makers and crafters can sell and promote their work.
This will be run on a timetable of all the exhibiting makers & artists.
The shop will sell handmade items made by local artists and also pieces made at regular community workshops with a ‘make one & donate one’ theme; 50% of profit from the shop will go to the MakeSpace mission to cover running costs.
Long Term
'In the Making'
Provide opportunities and a safe space to learn quality craft skills whilst benefiting from the wellbeing element that immersing oneself in the flow that making and mastery gives; and feel empowered to take what is learnt forward into everyday life’
